Former Blue Danny Haynes hit back from the spot for the Addicks after the break but despite being under the cosh for much of the second period Town hung on for the three points. |

Town boss Mick McCarthy has named an unchanged side for today’s game at Charlton. Striker Daryl Murphy had been a doubt with a knee problem suffered in the second half of the 1-1 draw with Bristol City at the weekend. |

Two teams made up of TWTD readers were involved in today’s Soccer Sixes tournament on the main pitch at Portman Road. Sadly both Atletico TWTD and Dynamo TWTD — wearing kit kindly provided by the ITFC Charitable Trust - failed to get to grips with the near perfect conditions and the spoils went elsewhere. |

Boss Paul Jewell seems likely to stick with the team which was unlucky to lose 2-1 to Wolves last week when Town take on Bristol City in their opening game of the season at Ashton Gate on Saturday. The Blues manager has a full squad to choose from with no one missing due to pre-season knocks. |

A Grant Holt hat-trick condemned 10-man Town to a disastrous 4-1 defeat to Norwich at Carrow Road. Holt appeared to handle the ball in the run-up to the opening goal, but Town struck back through Delaney soon after. Holt added his second before Delaney was red-carded for hauling down the Norwich skipper, then after the break Holt netted his third and sub Wes Hoolahan completed the scoring. |

New loan signings Gianni Zuiverloon and Rory Fallon will go straight into the Town squad for Sunday’s East Anglian derby against Norwich City at Carrow Road (BBC1, 1pm). The Dutch right-back looks certain to start, while the New Zealand international striker’s prospects of making the XI have been enhanced by Connor Wickham’s absence with a thigh injury. |
